Well, we got back this morning from our visit to Portsmouth. We had a great room, complete with a fridge and microwave, so we could buy our dinner at the grocery store and cook it at the room. Breakfast was complimentary, and we bought lunch meat to make sandwiches.
Thursday after we checked in, the kids all went swimming in the pool (forgot the camera, sorry). Then after dinner, we headed next door to The Christmas Tree Shop, and Barnes and Noble.
Friday we got up early (about 7am), and had breakfast, before making our lunches for the day and heading down to Prescott Park. We were able to park there for free, which was a blessing, since money was tight.
Here are a few shots from the park:
Then we walked around downtown, and here are a few jems from there:
And this........it was the best find for all of us. We couldn't resist touching it.
I had been to Portsmouth more than a few times in my life, and for whatever reason, I never saw this tree. I think it is the coolest thing!
Here is a batch of links if you would like to learn more about the things that we visited:
After looking at the schedule for Strawberry Banke, I think we will go on July 4th, as it is all kids free, which will save me $30, and they have a bunch of activities that day.
I will post more pictures and such tomorrow.
