Sunday Scribbles

Sundays at this farmish place are reserved for Scribbles - short, random musings that collect while my mind has time to wander on this day of (supposed) rest. Enjoy, and feel free to add your own in the comments- via Mama Tea at A Farmish Kind of Life

-It was wonderful to do nothing but rest yesterday. Although taking a 4 hour nap too late in the afternoon definitely will throw your sleep pattern off...Never went to bed last night until 12 am.

-It was so foggy this morning that you couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of you, but it has since burned hot and sticky.

-Praying for my southern friends and family getting hit by the very slow moving Tropical Storm Lee.

-We are under another flood warning for Monday into Tuesday. The rain moving in from the west, and eventually Tropical Storm Lee's remnants are going to put a lot of stress on already swollen rivers in this state, due to last weekend's Irene hit. The biggest areas of concern are the western side of the state, but we are the first to get the flood warning.

-I will keep a close eye on the basement, making sure the sump pump is ready to go if we need it. We don't get much water in the basement, but when the ground is saturated like it has been, it seeps in where the basement wall meets the floor.

-Basement...that reminds me, I need to go check on laundry, the never ending beast! Have a great day!

  1. I love posts like this. They're like little snapshots. Having had a basement that flooded every time a hurricane passed through, I can appreciate your concern. Glad everything is okay so far.

  2. Thank you Leigh:) I have Mama Tea to thank for the inspiration! Yes, we are getting soaked, but so far so good. I wish there was a way to push this rain back south and west to TX and OK, they are getting hit so badly with those fires.
Have a great week, and I am loving your updates on your kitchen remodel:)
