Of Dreams and Book Stores

Quite the poetic title for this post, eh?  I thought it sounded good :)  So, yesterday was the all important meeting with my aunt's friend, who is a mortgage specialist.  This is the woman who was going to tell me if my dream of my own place was an option for sure, or just a pipe dream.

The first thing she did was run my credit report.  Good news there, my credit score has come up 30 points since this time last year :).  On a sorta not good note, I have a few things I have to get taken care of, from about 5yrs ago, when workman's comp was making my life a living hell money wise.  But it is completely doable in about 6 months.

With that said....once I clean those few things up (and she gave me a few pointers on that), I am completely able to do a first time buyers loan!!!!   I was so over the moon happy yesterday, that I thought I would burst!  And the best part....a place for about $50,000 is only going to amount to about $400 a month.  That includes insurance, taxes and PMI.  This momma is stoked, and so are the boys!!

And on to book stores.....

This store is AMAZING!  It is The Homeschool Gathering Place, located in Raleigh.  It is a New and Used curriculum store for homeschoolers.  I was like a kid in a candy shop when I went in here today!  The lady at the counter was laughing, until I explained that there is NOTHING like this in NH.  I picked up a used set of math curriculum that I had wanted for Joe this year, for a steal.  I will be going back next week when I have some more money, to get a few more things for my school year.

The other place we went to is called Edward McKay's Used Books.  This place is huge, and has a mish mash of everything you could think of.  Definitely another must next week!!!

Tomorrow, we will be making a trip to my other cousin's, Karla, who lives near Greensboro.  I haven't seen her since I was down in February, and she hasn't seen the boys in about a year and a half.  It's going to be fun catching up with her.

Hope you all are having a great week!

  1. So glad to hear your good news! I could almost hear you giggling through the post. Are things looking up for you, or what! :o}

    1. Thank you Mama Pea!! Yes, it definitely was G-d blessed, to make the decision to move down here.

  2. Thanks for the update. My youngest is home schooling online. She starts high school. We need no books everything is online for her.

    Stay safe.
