Despite some incredibly strong winds before the actual line of storms got here, and tornado watches going up by 8pm, we made it through the storm unscathed. We didn't even lose power.
From what I can tell from local news reports, there are some random trees down here and there in the area, causing various property damage, and a few minor injuries, but considering the size and power of the storm, we dodged a bullet.
When the tornado watch went up last night, I asked out loud what we would do in a tornado, to see if Joe knew. His first response was "Go downstairs to Marge's apartment". He's a pretty smart kid, since we have only had to deal with one tornado in our lives. We actually would go to her apartment and all gather in her bathroom. Her apartment has a handicap bathroom, thus it's larger than ours, which would be good with 6 people crammed in there lol.
We had a tornado rip through NH back in the summer of 2008, which was scary as all get out. For me particularly, as Joe was at Boy Scout camp that week, and the tornado missed them by less than a mile. Thankfully, other than losing power, they were all fine. When you drive to their dad's house over in Deerfield, you can still see the damage, this many years out.
Today will be in the 50's, but I doubt it will feel that way, the wind is still wiping around pretty good out there, as the cold front is moved in.
Hope you all have a good day, and stay safe.
